Spreading the Word
The Biomed Buddies remain entirely independent and have no financial or commercial connection with any manufacturer or supplier. Neither do we supply equipment or act as an agent for any product ourselves. Our own "product" is time spent implementing maintenance solutions, and in advising on, and carrying out, various tasks involved with the engineering support and maintenance (technical support) of medical equipment.
However, in the spirit of honest brokers, we are always prepared to recommend or endorse products or services of quality that we ourselves have used, seen and admired, found appealing, or otherwise appreciated. Links to some of those are listed here:-
Avensys (third-party equipment technical services) BCAS Biomed (multi-vendor equipment management services) CBET Study Forum (biomed study forum) DG Labels (equipment servicing labels) Don's Bulbs (specialist lamp information and supplier) Durbin Engineers (temporary biomed technicians) Frank Weithöner (assistance to overseas technicians) Key Health Solutions (biomedical, facilities and healthcare consultancy services) Medelis (medical equipment databases and maintenance inventories) Medi-Server (equipment manuals) Peak (speciality hand-held electronic test devices) REO (medical isolation transformers) Reza Najafi (operating and service manuals) Safety Medical Solutions (operating theatre isolated power extension units) SoluMed (on-line marketplace for medical equipment) Southwest Medical (technical services and used medical equipment) TAG Medical (GP medical equipment testing and calibration) Walters Medical (ECG leads, NIBP cuffs and hoses, SpO2 probes) Young Calibration (test equipment calibration services)
Feedback, comments and questions about the Biomed Buddies, requests for help, additional information or enquiries about availability of any of the Buddies, may be sent to biomedbuddies@hotmail.co.uk
Are you interested in getting involved with the Biomed Buddies? If you are experienced in the engineering support and maintenance of medical equipment, like to work in hands-on mode, and can bring value to the group, then we would be pleased to hear from you. As usual, we are especially keen to welcome those with expertise in the speciality areas of anaesthesia, dialysis, laboratory or medical imaging (eg, ultrasound, CT, MRI or radiographic) equipment. We are also always ready to hear from entrepreneurs interested in biomedical services ventures, providing technical support to medical charities, database programmers, potential sponsors, and other interesting people!
