A few years ago I came across a website called the "Telecom Buddies". It was about a small group of expat telecom engineers who looked out for each other, kept in touch, sharing information etc., especially about finding overseas contracts. So you can see how the "Biomed Buddies" name was born! It hasn't really panned out in the way that the Telecom Buddies did (but there's still time, and we always live in hope). At the moment, the site is more about "spreading the word" than anything else.
Now that my previous Buddy has hung up his spurs, as it were, I am on the look-out for another side-kick. Are you interested in becoming one of the Buddies? If you are experienced in the engineering support and maintenance of medical equipment, like to work in hands-on mode, and can bring value to the group, then we would be pleased to hear from you. As usual, we are especially keen to welcome those with expertise in the speciality areas of anaesthesia, dialysis, laboratory or medical imaging (eg, ultrasound, CT, MRI or radiographic) equipment.
We are also always ready to hear from entrepreneurs interested in biomedical services ventures, providing technical support to medical charities, database programmers, systems integrators, potential sponsors, and all other interesting people!
